Signboard was first developed at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond, OK by Jeff Wilson, Pastor of Innovation and Technology and Eric Granata, Sr. Graphic Designer, as a cheap and robust solution to digital signage. Then we decided to help other churches who wanted to use our solution by providing the work we'd done and our support.
Later, Dexter Evans of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX contacted us to see if we could help get the signage running at their church. We provided Dexter and the rest of the team at HPUMC the Signboard Flash source and an overview of how things were pieced together and they took off running. Even adding support for EventU to the system!
We're hoping that with Signboard, you'll be able to get a customized digital signage solution running for your church.
The Flash components and Director will run you as little as $150 and are necessary to make use of the Signboard Flash source. We think that's pretty affordable.Hardware:
Out of the box, Signboard is made to draw content from Google Calendar for the left and bottom tickers and SlideShowPro Director for the slide content. Here's a picture that explains!
Highland Park United Methodist Church used Signboard as a foundation to build their digital signage that displays headlines from an RSS feed, events from EventU and announcement slides! Nice work guys!
Henderson Hills Baptist Church uses Signboard at their Information Kiosk displaying announcement slides, current events happening at the campus that day and headlines from their email newsletter. They also have Signboard installs in the Student area that displays content relevant to Middle School and High School students.
First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls is happy to use Signboard in their Atrium. Not only does it look good, but it also keeps them safe as they no longer have to navigate around tripods with posters containing ministry information!
Is your church using Signboard? We'd love to see it! Get in touch and show us what you've done!
Because Signboard is open to your customization, with a little know how you can add new content, make it work with your ChMS tools like EventU, whatever! We just ask that, if you extend Signboard to meet your needs, consider sharing it with the community.
We love it. Our communications director REALLY loves it.Brian Davis
